Meet Karen Evans, DNP, MSN, SD-CLTC, RN-CLTC, CLC

Dr. Evans is currently the Vice President of the Maryland Nurses Association. She has served as Maryland’s Executive Director of the Maryland Board of Nursing and Maryland’s Nursing License Compact Commissioner’s Board and is responsible for the administration and direction of the Board’s licensure processes, certification, compliance, regulation, education, outreach, information functions for Nurses, and allied health roles under the authority and oversight of the Maryland Board of Nursing. Ms. Evans has over 39 years of administrative, educational, associate, and baccalaureate nursing programs and clinical experience, including acute and long-term care. Additionally, Ms. Evans was a National Council of State Boards of Nursing board member and National Advisory Council of Nursing Education and Practice. She participated in Maryland’s Workforce on the Healthcare Commission and subcommittee. Her past leadership roles include Vice-President, President-Elect Maryland Nursing Association, and Corporate Director of Clinical Education Mid Atlantic Health Care. In addition, Ms. Evans founded the Mary Mahoney Honor Society at Coppin State University Nursing Program.
