Meet Kathleen Luton, CRNP

Kathleen (Kathy) Luton has been a nurse for more than 45 years and a nurse practitioner (NP) for 25 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Seton Hall University and her Master’s degree in Nursing Education and Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certificate at Catholic University. Kathy has clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and a Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in hospitals as a registered nurse in the CCU, ICU, ER and OR. Her NP practice has included cardiology, occupational health, urgent care, and primary care.

Throughout her nursing career, Kathy has held leadership positions including Emergency Nursing Director, Clinical Specialist, and Vice President. She has taught nursing and nurse practitioner students as an adjunct faculty member at Catholic University and the University of Virginia. She is currently a clinical preceptor for nursing students at Georgetown, Frostburg, University of Maryland, Kaplan, Shady Grove, and Walden Universities. She has mentored many students and volunteers over the years, creating meaningful positions to help them grow professionally.

For the past ten years, she has been the Clinical Director of Mobile Medical Care, Inc., a federally qualified health center in Montgomery County, Maryland. Kathy brings a wealth of experience in health and wellness, operational management, volunteer facilitation, and developing community partnerships to the Board of Trustees of the Nursing Foundation of Maryland.

Kathy is originally from New Jersey and has lived in Howard County, Maryland for more than 30 years. She is the mother of two grown children and one grown foster child.
